Criteria
Each review on this web site is unique and exclusive to Porn Scene Reviews. While we try to remain as objective as possible, there are certain aspects of the review which will naturally reflect the opinion and impression of the reviewer. The following provides some detail about how we review and score porn scenes.
Detailed Review
If you would like a more detailed description of the scene, this is the section for you. While it is not necessarily a “blow by blow” account (pun intended!), it provides a basic description of the sex, and specifics on anything that stands out (good or bad) from the rest of the scene, or in comparison to other scenes.
Cons
A sentence or two outlining the worst aspects of the scene and may include facts, subjective opinion, or both
Pros
A sentence or two outlining the best aspects of the scene and may include facts, subjective opinion, or both
Bottom Line
This is a basic synopsis of the scene and may include fact, opinion or both. If you don’t have the time or desire to read through the detailed review, this will give you a “quick and dirty” look.
Rating Breakdown
The review score is based on the following criteria (for a total of 100 points):
- Sex (25 points)
This reflects the variety, intensity, creativity and overall impression of the actual sexual acts performed in the scene. - Video Quality (25 points)
This is based on two factors: bit rate and dimensions of the best option viewing window of the full scene:
- Bit Rate/Quality (15 points)
- Dimensions/Size (10 points) - Production Quality (20 points)
This reflects all the production related aspects of the scene including camera work, plot, script, lighting, sound, music, costumes, sets, location, props, etc. Note: amateur scenes are judged within the amateur genre, rather than compared to professional scenes. - Acting (10 points)
This reflects the acting ability of the performer(s) and includes how well they stay true to their character or role, and the chemistry between the performers. If it is a “reality” type scene, it will be based on chemistry. - Performer Looks (10 points)
This has less to do with a subjective opinion about how “hot” a performer is, and more to do with how well the looks of the performer(s) fit the genre of that particular scene (including body features, wardrobe, hair, make-up, etc.) - Entertainment Value (10 points)
This reflects the overall impression of the scene, with all it’s components and taken as a whole, and within it’s particular genre. In plain and simple terms, “How jackable is it?”
Scene Facts
This section provides fact-based information and is not utilized in the review score, except to determine video quality. Please see below for a definition of each item in Scene Facts (Note: if a certain item is not available or does not apply to a certain scene, the Scene Facts will show “n/a” in that field):

Scene Facts Date: The date that Porn Scene Reviews viewed the scene/website in order to collect the data included in Scene Facts (month-day-year)

Couples Friendly: A general guideline as to the experience level recommended for a woman (or couple) to enjoy viewing this scene. The three levels are: Beginner (new to porn), Intermediate (some experience with enjoying porn), and Advanced (very experienced and open to porn – even so, this scene may not be for everyone.) If you’re a dude trying to get your chick to watch some porn for the first time, let us help you choose a selection that is more likely to get a positive reaction. Start with the “beginner” designations, and go from there. Note: these designations are relative to the genre/niche of the scene, so it assumes that you/your partner generally like that niche. That means that a granny porn scene might get a “beginner” designation, but if you/your partner don’t like to see grandmas getting fucked, this is not the scene for you.
